Can I Travel While on Workers' Compensation

Nothing prevents you from traveling. However, the insurance companies will have Private Investigators videotape and monitor injured workers. If you have restrictions precluding you from heavy lifting and they get you on videotape throwing large luggage into the trunk of your car for your trip, this could harm your case.  Another example would be if you have restrictions precluding you from sitting for more than 30 minutes, but your drive is 3 hours, this could also harm your case.

Before traveling it would be best to speak to an employee lawyer about your case or consult with the workers' compensation attorney you hired for your case.  This will ensure that you are not putting your workers' compensation legal claim at risk.
